Our Predictions for the Best New Austin Communities in 2019

In the city, in the suburbs, in the country. Wherever a developer can buy a chunk of land and create something, they do. These new options are giving home buyers a variety of choices in all parts of town. Last post, we talked about the top 5 new Austin communities, where we focused on neighborhoods that are a little more established where you can find new construction. This post, we’ll give you our predictions for the best new Austin communities in 2019. These are further behind on the development track, so you’ll have to have some vision for what will be there. If you’re an early adopter, this is the list to check out.

Where are the Best New Austin Communities in 2019

In a surprising turn of events, 4 of the 5 neighborhoods on our best new Austin communities in 2019 list are in Dripping Springs. Over the past year or so, Dripping Springs has seen an explosion of new, master planned communities. They are a unique blend of suburban, Hill Country with different style houses and stellar amenities. Plus, the school district is highly rated and it’s easy to get to Downtown Austin when you compare commute times from the northern suburbs. And, commercial development along 290 has also picked up, giving residents options that require less driving.

Arrowhead Ranch

Located just 2 miles from downtown Dripping Springs, Arrowhead Ranch is the ideal location for someone looking for a Hill Country, suburban feel as close to civilization as you can get. Of the 362 acres slated for this community, they’ll only be 380 homes at build out, which leaves plenty of space for decent size yards and community amenities. Arrowhead Ranch is also a dark sky community, which means there are no lights in the community so residents can gaze at the night sky.

Located in Dripping Springs, Bunker Ranch Estates homes will sit on ¾-2 acres and the community will be gated. There will also be a community center, named “The Bunker,” where residents can have social gatherings. If you’re looking for space in a gated community and don’t need a community pool or fitness center, Bunker Ranch Estates is a great place to start your search.

Caliterra Commons, centrally located in the neighborhood, is where you’ll find plenty of planned activities like book clubs, residents get togethers, outdoor movies and farmers markets. Residents will also enjoy some spectacular views, greenbelt homesites and modern style homes and floorplans. If you’re looking for a smaller community in a top rated school district, Lakes Edge is a great place to start your search.
