Izzoz Taco Truck – South Austin 78704
Recently, we set out to find a different taco truck in South Austin. After a few minutes of looking at menus online, we decided to try Izzoz Tacos in 78704.
Izzoz Tacos – Where Good Friends Make Tacos & Good Tacos Make Friends
Already knowing exactly what we wanted to order, we headed to the truck, placed our order and sat down at one of the tables. To my surprise, Izzoz is more like a casual restaurant than a food truck. When you order, they give you a number and bring your food out when its ready. This way, you can enjoy their guacamole or chili con queso while you wait. And….you can bring your own margaritas and mix those at your table.
Izzoz Tacos – The Food
We ordered beef crispy tacos and shrimp tempura tacos and could not have been happier with our meal. The shrimp tempura tacos came with an excellent sauce and cabbage that really complimented the shrimp. One bite and you’ll figure out a real chef is behind these creations. The beef tacos weren’t just crispy beef tacos. The meat was excellent and lettuce, cheese and tomatoes were fresh. The salsa that comes on the side is also very good, a bit spicy, but excellent. I must say I found myself impressed with the tacos at Izzoz and I haven’t been impressed at many restaurants lately. It’s the kind of place you could easily eat at often and at these prices ($2-$4/taco) how can you beat it?
We loved Izzoz so much we had to go back for Saturday morning breakfast to try their breakfast tacos and migas. We tried The B.A.T. and a Migas Plate. Both were seriously huge and, just like all their other tacos, excellent. Best breakfast tacos we’ve had in Austin. Again, great job Izzoz!
Izzoz is planning to start serving tamales in November and I’m very excited to try them. I’m sure they’ll take tamales to a new level, like they have their tacos.

The Izzoz Experience
Izzoz, pronounced E-zo’sm is not your typical food truck. Located at 1207 S. 1st St in 78704, they have their own parking lot, tables and a play ground for the kids. It’s a fun place you can go with a big group and not have to worry about the kids running around the restaurant. Plus, the food is better than all of the casual Mexican restaurants I’ve tried, so you’re not going to give up anything by dining outside. If you prefer to eat at home, you can always call in your order and come pick it up – perfect for a party or a hot summer day. And…they also cater!
