Where Can You Find the Most Walkable Neighborhoods in Georgetown?

As a general rule you can find them near Downtown, but there are a few west of 35 that are walkable as well. We’ll split up our list into most walkable neighborhoods in Georgetown, which are steps from amenities, followed by walkable neighborhoods which are still walkable but require a 10-15 minute walk to get to the amenities and finally somewhat walkable neighborhoods for those who are ok with a longer walk to get to where they’re exploring.

Most Walkable Neighborhoods in Georgetown

Downtown Georgetown and The Brownstone at the Summit are two neighborhoods that would be considered the most walkable neighborhoods in Georgetown. Downtown Georgetown is right around and off the square, so residents have easy access to the restaurants, coffee shops, wineries, bars and shopping there. The Brownstone at the Summit was built next to the Summit at Rivery Park, which is a small section of restaurants, shopping, a gym, hotel with a restaurant and bar and access to the San Gabriel River Trail.

Walkable Neighborhoods in Georgetown

This group of neighborhoods are still walkable. You might have to walk 10-15 minutes to get to a coffee shop, restaurant or park, but it is doable. These neighborhoods might be a better fit for you want the ability to walk but don’t need to make it part of your every day activities. Or, maybe you do want to walk every day but you don’t mind the extra exercise.

Summercrest

Located in the southeastern part of Georgetown, Summercrest presents an excellent balance of affordability and access. Downtown is just over a mile, so it is more of a hike but doable as long as its not the dead of summer.

    Somewhat Walkable Neighborhoods in Georgetown

    These neighborhoods are walkable, but are a little farther from the start of the amenities. That being said, we have definitely walked from River Hills to Downtown Georgetown a few times (plus other dining and shopping you’ll see below) so it is doable. I wouldn’t suggest it in the middle of summer, but if the weather is mild, it is a nice walk.
