The Jalopy’s Menu
Although the ambiance of the Jalopy is worth checking out on its own, the Jalopy’s sole reason for being is to make to make us all happy with their incredibly tasty chicken sandwiches. The chicken is brined overnight in a mixture of water, salt, cider vinegar, rosemary and other secret ingredients. The chicken is then slow roasted in their rotisserie machine where they come out golden brown and crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. Finally the chicken is chopped up, sliced and ready to go; the chicken is ready to be matched up with one of the Jalopy’s special sandwich creations.
Not Just Chicken on the Menu!
The menu offers a slew sandwiches that will satisfy any discerning taste. You can choose from the Orignal Jalopy with demi-glace and red onion marmalade, Chicken and Waffles with a Cayenne Maple Syrup, and vegetarian options like The Jelly served with with spicy peanut butter, seasonal berries and almonds.
Must Try: Bacon Chicken Sandwich
My choice was the Bacon Chicken Sandwich and all I can say is WOW! I know you can never go wrong with matching chicken with bacon, bacon and more bacon; but the Jalopy even turns this sandwich up a notch by adding their special bacon aioli. This sandwich is so good that I have been back to the Jalopy twice and still can’t get myself to try the rest of the menu. My advice is to try some of the other menu items first and then try the Bacon Chicken Sandwich or you may be stuck in black hole of bacon goodness like I am.
