Austin Bank Owned Properties Sold Down 17%
November 2016 saw a 17% decrease in the number of bank owned homes that sold in year over year figures. In November 2015, there were 6 bank owned homes that sold (closed escrow) compared to 5 in November 2016. Bank owned homes (foreclosures) accounted for 0.7% of the total home sales in Austin in November 2016, compared to 0.8% of the total sales in November 2015. The overall market saw a 2% increase in the number of homes sold compared to last year’s numbers.
50% Decrease in Austin Bank Owned Homes Under Contract
In November 2016, there were 3 bank owned homes that accepted a contract (pending) compared to 6 bank owned homes in November 2015 marking a 50% decrease in year over year numbers. Bank owned homes accounted for 0.4% of the homes that went under contract in November 2016 compared to 0.8% of homes that went under contract in November 2015. The full market saw a 4% increase in the number of homes that went pending compared to last year at this time, showing just how small a percentage the distressed market takes in Austin.
Austin Bank Owned Listed for Sale Up 40%
In November 2015, there were 5 foreclosures (homes owned by the bank) listed for sale compared to 7 in November 2016 showing a 40% increase in year over year numbers. Bank owned homes listed for sale made up of 0.9% of the full market in November 2016 compared to 0.6% in November 2015. The full market saw a 1% increase in number of homes listed for sale.
Austin Bank Owned Homes Currently for Sale Down 50%
The number of bank owned homes in Austin currently on the market went from 18 in November 2015, to 9 in November 2016 marking a 50% (9 home) decrease. The number of bank owned homes for sale made up just 0.3% of the market in November 2016 compared to 0.5% in November 2015. The full market saw a 1% increase in the number of homes for sale this time last year.
3 Home Increase in Bank Owned Homes that Didn’t Sell
In November 2016, banks took 3 homes off the market that didn’t sell compared to 0 in November 2015, showing a 3 home increase in year over year numbers.
