Lake Travis is one of Austin’s fastest growing areas. With a top rated school district (top 20 districts in all of Texas), brand new neighborhoods with resort style amenities, low tax rate and proximity to Downtown Austin, the airport and Austin employers, it’s pretty clear Lake Travis has the recipe for quality living. Though technically a suburb of Austin, the Lake Travis area feels more unique than Austin’s northern or southern suburbs. The 620 corridor has plenty of restaurants and shopping, but they are hidden behind mature trees, so you never get the sense you’re in the cookie cutter suburban sprawl. Lake Travis also is known for it’s challenging golf courses, country clubs, tennis clubs and marinas, so if you like the outdoors, you have plenty of options.
