Characteristics of a Great Austin Neighborhood

December 7, 2012 By Raymond Stoklosa Leave a Comment

characteristics great austin tx neighborhoodIdentifying the best Austin neighborhoods is relatively easy once you know what characteristics to look for since superior neighborhoods have several things in common. Austinite’s who recognize the importance location plays in preserving home value will zero in on these and generally pay a price premium to land the right property.

What Characteristics Do Great Neighborhoods Have?

A home’s value is most strongly influenced by its neighborhood. Almost all great neighborhoods have these commonalities:

  • Served by a superior school district
  • Has an active neighborhood association
  • Has its own distinctive appeal
  • Is generally quiet
  • No ugly eye sores
  • Free of nuisances
  • Strict limits on growth and development
