Pflugerville may have a small town feel, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to keep yourself fully occupied living there. For a fun afternoon, head over to Lake Pflugerville where you’ll find a 3 mile hike and bike trail, fishing pier and non-motorized water sports like swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing. If you’re looking for a Zilker Park substitute, try Pfluger Park on City Park Road. You’ll find a public pool, hike and bike trail and a shaded playground for the kids. Looking for some place to take your pup? Try Northtown Park for a leash free doggy play park where you’ll find areas for the little dogs and the big dogs. They also have a huge disc golf course as well. Looking for a place to swim? Try the Gilleland Creek Pool on Railroad Ave. They’ve set up lanes for lap swim and also an area for playing.
Pflugerville Walkability
Pflugerville is a very walkable city, especially near the Downtown areas. If you live in one of the neighborhoods a bit further out, a quick 5 minute drive will get you to the walkable areas.
Places to Eat in Pflugerville
For something totally different, try Taste of Ethiopia on Grand Ave Pky. Not only is the food excellent, but its a great experience too. Their injera bread (similar to sourdough) is a must try especially with their meats and vegetables. For a German option (how can you go to Pflugerville without trying out the German option?), try Nuernberg Brauhaus on FM 685. The Goulash is a must try along with a German beer. In the mood for Asian fusion or sushi? Try Hakata on Pecan St. Their sushi is pretty good and they have a huge selection of interesting combinations. If you’re wanting to try TexMex, how about Rio Grande TexMex on Central Commerce Drive. Their food is especially good but their salsa is even better.
