Steiner Ranch is probably the most well known neighborhood in Austin. When we were looking to move to Austin, Steiner Ranch was one of the neighborhoods that kept coming up in our searches. Ultimately, we didn’t choose Steiner Ranch, but not because it wasn’t a great neighborhood with lots of amenities. It just wasn’t in the right location. If Steiner Ranch is the right location for you, but you’re just looking for something a little different, here is a list of the neighborhoods near Steiner Ranch.

River Place is similar to Steiner Ranch appearance wise, but does have a tighter price range making it more uniform. River Place is a great neighborhood if you’re looking for a neighborhood with rolling hills, beautiful Hill Country views, a lower tax rate and a country club lifestyle. River Place does not have as many included amenities as Steiner Ranch, but residents can join the River Place Country Club for golf, tennis and swim facilities.

With such a diverse group of homes, Apache Shores is the perfect neighborhood for you if you’re looking for less HOA involvement and don’t need brand new construction.

If you’re looking for a larger lot, The Canyons at Lake Travis is just about the only neighborhood near Steiner Ranch where you’ll find one. The Canyons at Lake Travis is also the neighborhood for you if you’re looking for a closer-knit community.
