texas six fastest growing southern cities

For those of us who live in Austin or Central Texas, this report won’t be surprising. But, if you’re thinking of relocating to Austin, you might be interested to know Texas has one of the strongest economic climates in the US. According to the Business Journal, six Texas cities (Austin, Dallas, Ft Worth, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio) were among the top 10 Southern cities in terms of population growth between April 2010 and July 2011. Houston, San Antonio and Dallas held spots #1, #2 and #3 respectively with Austin coming in at #5 just after Jacksonville, FL.

Everyone’s Moving to Austin!

This report only confirms what we’ve been seeing. Everyday we get calls from people who are either looking to relocate or who have been transferred to Austin from other states. It seems more and more companies are moving some or all of their operations here and with that we are getting a highly trained work force from all over the country. It used to be that we got calls from a lot of people from California, but now we’re getting calls from all over and from people in all different industries.

Austin is a very welcoming city with a lot to offer. If you’re looking for a nice place to live with a relatively low cost of living, Austin should at least make the list of places to check out.
