These two ratings measure different things, which is worth knowing before comparing schools. GreatSchools weighs test performance against schools serving similar student populations. The Texas Education Agency’s rating, below, is the state’s own official measurement and the one used for school accountability purposes.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
- Overall TEA Rating: A (90 out of 100)
- Student Achievement: A (93) (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: A (91) (student growth compared to schools serving similar populations)
- Closing the Gaps: B (83)
Eanes Elementary earned an overall A (90 out of 100) from TEA for the 2025-26 school year. It has been rated A every year since 2022, with scores of 95, 94, 95 and 95 from 2021-22 through 2024-25, so 2025-26 came in five points below its usual level. Student Achievement (A, 93) and School Progress (A, 91) both remain A ratings. Closing the Gaps, at B (83), is the domain that slipped.
For context, under TEA’s scale, an A rating reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized performance, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable.
