What changed in 2025-26
Eanes ISD closed Valley View Elementary at the end of the 2024-25 school year and merged its students into Barton Creek. At the same January 2025 meeting, trustees ended the district’s elementary Spanish Immersion program, so Barton Creek no longer offers it.

Barton Creek Elementary’s zone changed significantly for 2025-26. Eanes ISD moved every Valley View Elementary planning unit (201, 276 through 282, 303 and 304) to Barton Creek, then moved Barton Creek planning units 273, 274 and 275 to Forest Trail Elementary to keep both campuses under their enrollment caps. The district did not grandfather rezoned students.
Today the zone covers the Bee Cave Road and Loop 360 corridor west of Lost Creek, including Austin Lake Hills, Austin Lake Estates, Seven Oaks and Werkenthin from the former Valley View zone, plus Barton Creek West and Senna Hills. Eanes ISD assigns elementary zones by planning unit, so a street or subdivision can sit right on a line.
