Lakeway is bordered by Lake Travis to the North, Ranch to Market 620 to the East, Highway 71 to the South and Bee Creek Road to the West.
Lakeway has a wide array of neighborhoods that range from a one bedroom condos to multi-million dollar homes on Lake Austin. There is a lot of new construction throughout the Lakeway community with older homes and neighborhoods intermixed. Most neighborhoods branch off of Lakeway Boulevard, the main thoroughfare. Golf in Lakeway
One of the best and closest golf courses in Lakeway is in the Falconhead neighborhood. Falconhead Golf Course is a PGA designed course that offers the quality of play the pros experience. Falconhead takes full advantage of the rolling hills and the terrain of the Texas Hill County and play one round and will quickly see why this course is one of Austin’s best.
Things to Do in Lakeway
Because the Lakeway Community borders Lake Travis, most residents spend their free time in and on the water. There are 3 main marinas in Lakeway……Rough Hollow, Hurst Harbor Marina and Lakeway Marina allowing easy access for it’s residents. Also on Lake Travis is Lakeway City Park offering 64 acres of green space. Lakeway City Park has a beach area, play area for kids, two miles of trails, picnic tables, a butterfly garden and areas for shuffleboard, washers, horseshoes, basketball and volleyball. If you get tired of the lake, you can enjoy shopping, restaurants and movies at nearby Shops of at the Galleria and the Hill Country Galleria Mall. In the fall you can and enjoy the Friday Night Lights of Lake Travis High school. One of the best High School football teams in all of Texas.
Places to Eat in Lakeway
One place to eat is Josey’s Grill and Bar located in the gorgeous Lakeway Resort and Spa. Josey’s serves home style “Living the Lake” cuisine with an elegant twist. The menu features dishes, such as, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken and waffles, country fried steak and baby back ribs to name a few. Josey’s also offers an all you can eat Sunday Supper. Another one of Lakeway favorites is Johnny Fins. Johnny Fins is a full service floating restaurant with 5 dining areas, 3 bars and 2 outdoor patios. Johnny Fins has 9 foot open air windows so you can sit back and enjoy the beauty of Lake Austin. Rocco’s Grill is a local family owned Italian restaurant that has served the Lakeway community for almost a decade. Rocco’s Grill is decorated with vibrant and colorful hand painted murals and boasts an extensive wine menu.
Coffee in Lakeway
Lakeway has plenty of Starbucks coffee shops in and around the community but it also offers a few boutique places to try. Cafe Lago Coffeehouse has served the Lakeway community since 1992. They also serve one of the best breakfasts in the Lakeway area. Java Dive Organic Cafe is dedicated to serving imaginative espresso and latte drinks, as well as, healthy and organic food.
Where to Work Out – Gyms Near Lakeway
Bodywise Gym has been serving the Lakeway Community since 1990. There motto is, “Not a Big Gym, A Great Gym”. There gym floor is bright and airy with state of the art equipment. They also offer a Virtual Fitness room where you can check out fitness videos and workout in privacy. Established in 2005, Lakeway Elite Fitness provides excellence in fitness, self defense and wellness. They are certified and licensed in MMA, Crossfit Kids and Krav Maga. This is one of the more unique gyms in the Austin area.
