In 2025-26, Highland Park enrolled 648 students, with 4.5% economically disadvantaged, 1.4% emergent bilingual and 21.3% receiving special education services, according to TEA, and about 13.4% of students were identified as gifted and talented. Nothing changed for Highland Park in 2026-27, and Austin ISD’s February 2026 feeder chart still shows it feeding Lamar and McCallum. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.

In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Highland Park Elementary earned an overall A with a score of 94. That is up 1 point from an A (93) in 2024-25. Highland Park has been an A campus in every rated year since 2021-22, scoring 96 in 2021-22, 93 in 2022-23 and 90 in 2023-24.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): A (94)

Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Highland Park earned an A in all three domains in 2025-26. Student Achievement, the share of students meeting STAAR standards, was an A (94), up from 93. School Progress rose from 90 to an A (93) on the strength of Academic Growth at 93, while Relative Performance, which compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students, improved from a C (75) to a B (81). Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups, was an A (93). Highland Park earned several distinction designations in 2021-22, including ELA/Reading, Mathematics, Comparative Academic Growth and Comparative Closing the Gaps, and none in the years since. The campus is not identified for state improvement support.
