Pedernales Falls State Park is less than 15 miles from Dos Lagos and one of the most popular parks in Central Texas. The park is popular for camping, river swimming, tubing, mountain biking, bird watching and horse back riding. One of the most popular swimming holes in the Austin area is at Hamilton Pool Park located 19 miles north of Dos Lagos. The historic swimming pool is fed by the Pedernales River and stays a constant level even during periods of drought. The pool is famous for it’s 50 foot waterfall that pours into the pool.

Most of the residents of Dos Lagos travel to Downtown Dripping Springs for the night out or a filling lunch. Papa Joe’s Pizza is a popular lunch spot for people living in Dripping Springs and have been voted on of the best pizza places in the Austin area. Papa Joe’s has thin New York Style Pizza and also serves Gyros and Wings. Railroad Bar-B-Que opened in Dripping Springs in 1982 and continues to be a Dripping Springs’ favorite.
