Westwood is an established West Lake Hills neighborhood with the majority of homes built in the 1960s and 1970s and some built since. We are starting to see builders buy a small, older house in original condition, tearing it down and rebuilding something much bigger and brand new. This is changing the landscape of the neighborhood a bit, but it does give an opportunity for someone looking for new construction near downtown. Some of the homes sit above the street and have great views. Others sit below the street and still could have some views depending on how they are built into the hill and what is below them. Though there are no sidewalks, there isn’t too much traffic in Westwood, so you will see people walking. The trees are mature, and many of them line the street, giving it a park like setting and giving the residents privacy. Most like the uniqueness of the neighborhood and the location, being only a couple of miles from MoPac off Bee Cave Road.
