Grey Rock Golf Course is Hielscher resident’s golf course of choice. A public course, you can either pay by day or choose one of their membership programs if you play more often. Perfect for the avid golfer and occasional golfer as well. The course is beautiful with tree lined fairways and spectacular scenery.
Things to Do in Hielscher – Circle C West
Circle C Swim Center and Tennis Club would be your first bet if you like to be outdoors. The swim center has an Olympic-sized pool as well as a baby pool. There is another pool scheduled to be built in Circle C in the next few months as well. The tennis club has 8 courts and a pro shop. If you’re into rollerblading and cycling, head to the Veloway at the end of Slaughter Creek Park where you’ll find a 3.1 mile, 23 ft wide track for rollerbladers and bikers. If wildlife is your thing, head over to The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and check out its gardens and nature trails.

If you’re looking for a close restaurant nearby, head to Escarpment Village where you’ll find a number of casual restaurants ranging from tex-mex to pizza to burgers to a fancy happy hour bar. If you’re in the mood to travel a little further, head into Downtown Austin and try one of several great restaurants. My staples tend to be Eddie V’s and 219 West. If you’re craving BBQ, head to Salt Lick, only a few miles down the road in Driftwood, TX for some of Texas’ best BBQ.
