GreatSchools and the Texas Education Agency measure different things, so it is worth reading both. GreatSchools weighs test performance against schools serving similar student populations. The Texas Education Agency’s rating, below, is the state’s own official measurement and the one used for school accountability purposes. For a high school, TEA’s rating also factors in graduation rates and college, career, and military readiness, not just test scores.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, Weiss High School earned an overall A with a score of 90. That caps one of the steadiest climbs of any high school in the area: Weiss was rated D (65) in 2022-23, then B (81) in 2023-24, B (87) in 2024-25, and now A (90). Closing the Gaps, which measures how well the school serves every student group, was its strongest domain at an A.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): A (90)
- Student Achievement: B (89), based on STAAR end-of-course exams, graduation rates, and college/career readiness
- School Progress: B (88)
- Closing the Gaps: A (92)
- Recent Overall Ratings: B (87) in 2024-25, B (81) in 2023-24, D (65) in 2022-23
A few numbers behind the rating stand out for a high school. Weiss’s four-year graduation rate is 97.9%, well above Pflugerville ISD’s 92.8%, and its dropout rate is 0.5%. 92% of graduates met TEA’s college, career, or military readiness standard. On STAAR end-of-course exams, 64% of Weiss students met grade level, compared with 51% district-wide.
For context, under TEA’s scale, an A rating reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized performance, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable.

Weiss High School Attendance Zone Map
The map above shows where the Weiss campus sits, off Weiss Lane in eastern Pflugerville. To confirm whether a specific home address is zoned to Weiss, use Pflugerville ISD’s official boundary tool: Pflugerville ISD Find My School Map.
Weiss’s attendance zone covers most of Pflugerville east of SH 130, including Avalon, Sorento, Villages of Hidden Lake, Carmel, Meadowlark Preserve, Lisso, and the neighborhoods along Weiss Lane and Cele Road. The zone’s edges are where buyers should be careful. Blackhawk, Park at Blackhawk, and Lakeside at Blackhawk are split between Weiss and Hendrickson High, and older central Pflugerville neighborhoods such as Gatlinburg, Cambridge Estates, and Mountain Creek sit mostly in the Pflugerville High zone. Commons at Rowe Lane, Highland Park, and Falcon Pointe are zoned to Hendrickson.
Pflugerville ISD voted in May 2026 to close Dessau, Parmer Lane, Pflugerville, and Windermere Elementary after the 2026-27 school year. Two of those, Dessau and Pflugerville Elementary, currently feed Weiss, and new elementary boundaries are due to the Board in November 2026. That process redraws elementary zones, but confirm the full school assignment for any specific address with Pflugerville ISD before writing an offer.
