Reed Elementary School is in the Leander ISD and earned a 6/10 rating from Great School’s as of October 2026. Officer Leonard A. Reed Elementary opened in 2014 as Leander ISD’s 24th elementary school. The Pre-K 4 through 5th grade campus sits on Little Elm Trail in south-central Cedar Park and is one of four Leander ISD elementaries with a two-way Spanish-English dual language program. Its attendance zone grew for the 2026-27 school year, when Leander ISD closed Faubion Elementary and moved the part of Faubion’s zone that feeds Henry Middle School to Reed. Today the zone covers Red Oaks, Park Place, part of Buttercup Creek and older central Cedar Park streets along Bell Boulevard and Cypress Creek Road. Below you’ll find the school’s current Texas Education Agency rating, its programs, the zone and feeder schools, and three years of MLS sales data for homes inside Reed’s current boundary.

Reed is named for Cedar Park Police Officer Leonard Allen Reed, a former Vista Ridge High School resource officer and the city’s 2008 Officer of the Year, who died in the line of duty in 2010. Reed serves a diverse student body. In 2024-25, about 46.5% of students were emergent bilingual, compared with about 14% districtwide, about 38.9% were economically disadvantaged, about 21.6% received special education services, and about 18.0% were identified as gifted and talented. Reed is a Title I campus. Those figures come from before the Faubion closure and the new Pre-K 4 program, so the 2026-27 student body is larger and somewhat different. Keep in mind that the GreatSchools rating above and the TEA accountability rating below measure different things, so the two can tell somewhat different stories.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
Reed Elementary received a C (76) in the Texas Education Agency’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, down from a B (80) in 2024-25. Student Achievement, which is based on STAAR results, was a C (73), compared with a C (74) the year before. School Progress, which measures how much students grew from one year to the next, held at a C (78). Closing the Gaps, which tracks how each student group performs against state targets, fell from a B (83) to a C (70), which accounts for most of the overall decline. TEA also identified Reed for Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) in 2026, a federal school-improvement designation based on the performance of individual student groups; campuses with this designation put a targeted improvement plan in place. Over the longer run, Reed earned B ratings in 2018-19 and 2021-22, C ratings in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and a B in 2024-25. For comparison, Leander ISD as a whole earned a B (87) in 2025-26.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): C (76)
- Student Achievement: C (73)
- School Progress: C (78)
- Closing the Gaps: C (70)
- Federal Designation: Targeted Support and Improvement (2026)
- Prior Overall Ratings: B (80) in 2024-25, C (73) in 2023-24, C (77) in 2022-23, B (83) in 2021-22, and B (86) in 2018-19 (no ratings were issued for 2019-20 or 2020-21)
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. The 2022-23 and 2023-24 ratings were delayed by litigation over TEA’s methodology and were not released until 2025. All of these ratings reflect the school’s students before the 2026-27 Faubion rezoning.

Programs at Reed Elementary
Here is what Reed and Leander ISD publish for the campus:
- Two-Way Dual Language: Reed is one of four Leander ISD elementaries offering two-way Spanish-English dual language in kindergarten through 5th grade, where Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students learn together in both languages. Early childhood classes use a one-way dual language model.
- Leader in Me: Reed began the Leader in Me program in 2014, earned Lighthouse School certification in 2020 and was recertified in 2024. The district says every Reed student holds a leadership role, and Reed and Westside were showcased as Lighthouse schools at the 2024 Austin Leader in Me Symposium.
- Pre-K 4 and Bilingual Pre-K 4: New for 2026-27, Reed is an early childhood site. It hosts Pre-K 4 for the Reed zone and bilingual Pre-K 4 for 13 elementary zones in the south and west of the district. Pre-K 3 for the Reed zone is at Naumann, and bilingual Pre-K 3 is at Knowles. Reed-zone Pre-K was previously held at Faubion.

Reed Elementary Attendance Zone Map
Reed’s attendance zone covers about 2.9 square miles of south-central Cedar Park. It takes in Red Oaks, Park Place, part of Buttercup Creek, Buttercup Villas, the Woodford condos and Woodford Gardens, and a few homes in Cedar Park Ranchettes, along with older Cedar Park streets around Bell Boulevard, Cypress Creek Road and East Park Street. The zone runs south along Little Elm Trail and South Lakeline Boulevard toward Old Mill Road. Nearby zones include Westside to the west, Naumann to the southwest, Cox to the northeast and Rutledge to the east. To confirm the school for a specific address, use Leander ISD’s School Zone Finder.
The zone changed for 2026-27. Leander ISD closed Faubion Elementary at the end of the 2025-26 school year, and on February 5, 2026 the board approved a plan that split Faubion’s zone along middle school lines: Faubion addresses in the Henry Middle School zone now attend Reed, and those in the Cedar Park Middle School zone now attend Westside. Most of Buttercup Creek is zoned to Westside, with a smaller section zoned to Reed. Because MLS listings often still carry the old Faubion assignment, always check the current zone for an address rather than relying on a listing’s school field.
Homes Zoned to Reed Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes sold through Unlock MLS that sit inside Reed Elementary’s current 2026-27 attendance zone, including the former Faubion area that is now zoned to Reed. We pulled every Leander ISD sale, matched each address to Leander ISD address points (or a geocoder for the few that did not match) and checked it against Leander ISD’s official Reed boundary, regardless of which school the listing named, so sales tagged Faubion in MLS are counted here when the home sits in today’s Reed zone. Most of these sales are in Buttercup Creek, Red Oaks and Park Place, with a few in Woodford Gardens, the Woodford condos, Buttercup Villas and Cedar Park Ranchettes.
3-Year Closed Sales Trend
| Period | Homes Sold | Median Sale Price | Median $/Sq Ft | Sale-to-List Ratio | Median Days on Market |
| Sept 2022 – Aug 2023 | 36 | $435,000 | $239.52 | 98.1% | 16 days |
| Sept 2023 – Aug 2024 | 40 | $412,500 | $250.63 | 99.3% | 14 days |
| Sept 2024 – Aug 2025 | 39 | $395,000 | $246.80 | 97.5% | 22 days |
| Trailing 12 Months (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026) | 42 | $401,450 | $222.20 | 97.2% | 30 days |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Single-family homes only, including condo-regime homes. Each address was matched to Leander ISD address points and checked against Leander ISD’s official 2026-27 attendance-zone boundary. Sales of homes in the former Faubion area are included because the homes sit inside today’s Reed zone, even if the listing named Faubion. Reed has relatively few single-family sales, about 40 a year, so the medians can shift with the mix of homes sold. Sale-to-list ratio is the median of each sale’s close price divided by its final list price. Days on market is cumulative days on market.
The median sale price in the Reed zone was $401,450 over the trailing twelve months, 1.6% above 2024-25’s $395,000 but 7.7% below the $435,000 median of 2022-23. Price per square foot fell more: $222.20 over the past year, down 10.0% from 2024-25 and 7.2% from 2022-23, and below the 2023-24 high of $250.63. Part of that reflects a shift toward larger homes this year, since the median home sold was about 1,990 square feet, compared with about 1,530 in 2024-25. Reed’s median sale price is well below the Leander ISD median of $535,000, although its price per square foot is higher than the district’s $211.62.
Sales volume is small but steady. 42 homes sold over the past twelve months, up 7.7% from 39 in 2024-25 and up 16.7% from 36 in 2022-23. All of these were resales, and the median home sold was built in 1994. Homes sell faster here than in the district overall, with a median of 30 days on market, compared with the Leander ISD median of 54 days, and sellers received a median of 97.2% of their final list price.
Current Inventory Snapshot
As of October 2, 2026
| Status | Count | Median List Price | Median Days on Market |
| Active | 11 | $499,900 | 84 days |
| Active Under Contract | 4 | $339,900 | 38 days |
| Pending | 0 | — | — |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Same zone check as above. Days on market is cumulative days on market.
15 homes are currently active or under contract in the Reed zone, and none are pending. With 11 active listings against about 3.5 sales a month over the past year, the zone has roughly 3.1 months of inventory, which leans toward sellers.
The median active list price of $499,900 is well above the trailing-twelve-month median sale price of $401,450, so today’s listings tilt toward larger or higher-priced homes. Active listings range from $349,000 to $999,999, only 2 of the 11 are priced under $400,000, and one is new construction. Active listings have been on the market a median of 84 days. With only 11 active listings and four homes under contract, these medians can move a lot with a single listing.
