With live oak tree covered lots, covered porches, luxurious master bedroom suites, minimum 2 acre lots, low tax rate (around 2%) and top rated Dripping Springs Schools, there’s not a lot to criticize. Its a small neighborhood, made up of only a few streets and therefore has a few number of sales per year. But, when homes do come up for sale in Woodland Estates, they usually don’t last long. Woodland Estates is located off FM 1826 at Woodland Drive. The easiest access is from Woodland Drive, which can be accessed off FM 1826. The neighborhood is horse shoe shaped with one cul-de-sac, Post Oak Lane. Off 1826, commuting to Austin takes about 35 minutes. For something genuinely Austin, head over to the Nutty Brown Cafe and listen to some live music. Not only do they have great local bands, they also have some big names from time to time so check out their schedule. Another fun activity is to head to Wimberley for their Local Market Days – the oldest and second largest market in Texas. Its held the first Saturday of every month from March – December. To taste Texas wine and olive oil, try the Bella Vista Ranch in Wimberley.
Places to Eat Near Woodland Estates
You’d think being in the “Country” you’d have a shortage of places to eat. But, not the case when you live in Woodland Estates. Only 20 miles from Downtown Austin, you can easily head into town when you want to enjoy dinner at one of your favorite restaurants. If you’re looking to stay closer to home and are craving Italian, try Trattoria Lissina. It has a great ambiance and great food. For barbecue, there is no better choice than the world famous Salt Lick Barbecue. Not only is the food great, but the grounds are beautiful. When you have guests in town, take them to the Duchman Family Winery.
Shopping Near Woodland Estates
Shopping near Woodland Estates can be done in either Dripping Springs or in Southwest Austin depending on where your day usually takes you. To pick up a few things, try Bubba’s Country Store at Highway 45 and 1826. If you’re looking to do a larger grocery shopping run, head to the H-E-B in Dripping Springs or in Escarpment Village in Circle C. Both are new stores with lots of selections. If you’re looking for Costco, you’ll find one of those in Southwest Austin off William Cannon and MoPac.
