Rutherford West is a unique,master planned community in Driftwood. The first homes were built back in 2008 and building goes on today (2022). In the early days, the developer subdivided the land and sold lots directly to buyers who could pick their builder and build a custom home on their lot. But, as growth has moved south and the demand for homes on 1-2 acre lots has increased, production builders have purchased a chunk of the lots and are building semi-custom homes as you see in most master planned communities around Austin. There are still lots owned by the developer and individuals where you can build a custom home with your own builder if you’d prefer something a little more suited for you. But, there are options for someone looking for something a little more plug and play. Stylewise, you’ll find everything from your traditional looking brick home to a more Texas Hill Country modern look with metal roofs and stone.
