In 2025-26, Williams enrolled 357 students, with 73.4% economically disadvantaged, 33.3% emergent bilingual and 30.5% receiving special education services, according to TEA. The student-teacher ratio was 9.8 to 1. Michelle Good, who had been interim principal, was confirmed as permanent principal in December 2025. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Williams Elementary earned an overall B with a score of 85. That is up 8 points from a C (77) in 2024-25. Williams has moved between grades in recent years: a B in 2021-22 (83) and 2022-23 (81), an A (90) in 2023-24 and a C (77) in 2024-25.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): B (85)
- Student Achievement: C, 72 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: B, 85 out of 100 (Academic Growth B/85, Relative Performance C/75)
- Closing the Gaps: B, 86 out of 100
- Prior Overall Ratings: B (83) in 2021-22, B (81) in 2022-23, A (90) in 2023-24, C (77) in 2024-25
- Austin ISD (2025-26): B (81) district-wide
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Williams’s B comes mainly from School Progress, which rose from a C (78) to a B (85) on Academic Growth of 85, and from Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups and rose from a C (75) to a B (86). Student Achievement, the share of students meeting STAAR standards, recovered from a D (67) to a C (72), and Relative Performance, which compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students, was a C (75). Student Achievement has been in the C range in most years, so the campus’s grade depends heavily on growth. Williams earned no distinction designations from 2021-22 through 2025-26, and it is not identified for state improvement support.

TEA issues updated ratings annually, so verify the current rating directly with Austin ISD or TEA before making a decision based on it.
