Learn About the SchoolsIn Texas, we have a rating system instituted by the Texas Education Agency where each district (called ISD’s or Independent School Districts) and school are assigned a rating. The highest rating is Exemplary, followed by Recognized, then Academically Acceptable, then Academically Unacceptable. Your First Trip to AustinEven though we’d been here a few times before, we wanted to make another trip to make sure Austin was really the place for us. We spent hours driving around, looking at each of the areas and asking ourselves, can we live here? When we came, we didn’t have any neighborhood maps showing us where some of the neighborhoods were.
