Whitestone is a mid-sized Leander ISD elementary with small classes and a large bilingual program. In 2025-26, about 31% of students were served in bilingual or ESL classes, roughly double the district-wide share, reflecting the school’s role as a dual language campus. About 22% received special education services, about 10% were identified as gifted and talented, and about 20% were economically disadvantaged. Enrollment fell from 853 students in 2024-25 to 769 in 2025-26, still well above the 400- and 500-student thresholds Leander ISD adopted in December 2025 for flagging campuses for possible consolidation. Keep in mind that the GreatSchools rating above and the TEA accountability rating below measure different things, so the two can tell somewhat different stories.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
Whitestone Elementary received a C (79) in the Texas Education Agency’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, up one point from a C (78) in 2024-25. Student Achievement, which reflects STAAR results, held at a C (78). School Progress, which measures how much students grew from one year to the next, rose from a C (73) to a C (79), and that domain set the overall score this year. Closing the Gaps stayed at a C (79). TEA did not identify the campus for comprehensive or targeted support in either year. Whitestone was a higher-rated campus before 2023-24: it earned an A (91) in 2022-23 and an A (91) in 2018-19, the year it also earned a TEA distinction for Comparative Academic Growth.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): C (79)
- Student Achievement: C (78)
- School Progress: C (79)
- Closing the Gaps: C (79)
- Prior Overall Ratings: C (78) in 2024-25, C (79) in 2023-24, A (91) in 2022-23, B (88) in 2021-22, and A (91) in 2018-19 (no ratings were issued for 2019-20 or 2020-21)
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. The 2022-23 and 2023-24 ratings were delayed by litigation over TEA’s methodology and were not released until 2025.

Programs at Whitestone Elementary
Here is what Whitestone and Leander ISD publish for the campus:
- Two-Way Dual Language: Whitestone is one of four Leander ISD elementaries with the district’s Two-Way Dual Language program, alongside Bagdad, Knowles and Reed. Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students learn together in both languages, with the goal of being bilingual and biliterate by 5th grade. Whitestone added the program in 2015, beginning in kindergarten, the year after Reed. Families zoned elsewhere can request a transfer into the program (Leander ISD Dual Language).
- Gifted and Talented: Identified students take part in QUEST, Leander ISD’s project-based elementary GT enrichment. About 10% of Whitestone students were identified for GT in 2025-26.
- Pre-K: Whitestone does not host Pre-K. For 2026-27, Leander ISD assigns Whitestone families to Winkley Elementary for Pre-K 4, Knowles Elementary for Pre-K 3, and Bagdad Elementary for bilingual Pre-K 4 (Leander ISD Pre-K).
- Before and After School: The YMCA runs an after-school program on campus, as it does at Leander ISD elementaries.
- Student Support: Counseling, special education services, a campus library, the HEROES mentoring program, and Watch D.O.G.S., which brings fathers and father figures onto campus as volunteers.
- Family Involvement: An active PTA runs a Spanish program, a clothes closet and volunteer committees, and the campus takes part in Leander ISD’s LEEF education foundation and Education Connection volunteer programs.
The campus website lists only a few clubs, so check the Whitestone Elementary website or ask the front office about current after-school offerings.

Whitestone Elementary Attendance Zone Map
Whitestone’s attendance zone covers about 4.8 square miles on the west side of Leander. It begins near downtown, in the older County Glen and Highway Village neighborhoods along South West Drive and Bagdad Road, and runs west along Crystal Falls Parkway through Mason Creek, Connelly’s Crossing and Mason Ranch into Crystal Falls. Neighboring zones are Bagdad to the northwest, Camacho to the northeast, Winkley, Knowles and Pleasant Hill to the east, and Mason to the southwest. To confirm the school for a specific address, use Leander ISD’s School Zone Finder.
Several neighborhoods are split with other schools. In Mason Creek, Sections 1, 2 and 5 are zoned to Whitestone, while Sections 3 and 4 are zoned to Camacho. In Crystal Falls, Grand Mesa, Cap Rock and the Hill Country acreage sections are zoned to Whitestone, but Boulders at Crystal Falls is split (Phases 3 and 5 are Whitestone; Phases 1, 2, 4 and 6 are Winkley), and most of The Fairways is zoned to Winkley. Leander ISD did not change Whitestone’s boundaries for 2026-27. The only rezoning that year was the Faubion Elementary consolidation, which does not affect this zone.
Homes Zoned to Whitestone Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes sold through Unlock MLS that are zoned to Whitestone Elementary. We pulled every sale tagged to Whitestone plus every sale in the zone’s neighborhoods. Then we checked each address against Leander ISD’s official attendance-zone map and kept only the ones inside it, regardless of which school the listing named. The zone mixes two very different markets: established homes in County Glen, Mason Creek and Connelly’s Crossing, mostly under $450,000; and larger homes in Mason Ranch and Crystal Falls, including Grand Mesa and the Crystal Falls golf course and acreage sections, where many homes sell for $1 million or more.
3-Year Closed Sales Trend
| Period | Homes Sold | Median Sale Price | Median $/Sq Ft | Sale-to-List Ratio | Median Days on Market |
| Sept 2022 – Aug 2023 | 132 | $667,062 | $242.24 | 97.9% | 26 days |
| Sept 2023 – Aug 2024 | 95 | $550,000 | $224.55 | 97.6% | 26 days |
| Sept 2024 – Aug 2025 | 121 | $610,000 | $221.56 | 97.3% | 49 days |
| Trailing 12 Months (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026) | 118 | $557,500 | $218.40 | 97.4% | 43 days |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Single-family homes only. Each sale was matched to Williamson County address points or geocoded and checked against Leander ISD’s official attendance-zone boundaries. We left out 43 sales tagged Whitestone that are actually in other zones (30 of them in the Camacho zone, about half in Mason Creek and most of the rest in Vista Ridge), added 16 in-zone sales tagged to other schools, and removed duplicate records. Sale-to-list ratio is the median of each sale’s close price divided by its final list price.
The median sale price in the Whitestone zone was $557,500 over the trailing twelve months. That is 16.4% below the $667,063 median of 2022-23 and 8.6% below the $610,000 median of 2024-25. Some of that swing comes from the mix of homes sold: 32 of the 132 sales in 2022-23 closed at $1 million or more, compared with 21 of 118 over the past year. Price per square foot is less sensitive to the mix, and it tells a similar but gentler story: $242.24 in 2022-23 versus $218.40 over the past year, a decline of 9.8%, with most of that drop coming by 2023-24.
Sales volume has been fairly steady, at 118 homes over the past twelve months compared with 121 the year before and 95 in 2023-24. Homes are taking longer to sell than they did in 2022-23: the median time on market was 43 days over the past year, up from 26. Sellers still received a median of 97.4% of their final list price.
Current Inventory Snapshot
As of October 2, 2026
| Status | Count | Median List Price | Median Days on Market |
| Active | 49 | $599,900 | 80 days |
| Active Under Contract | 8 | $837,450 | 104 days |
| Pending | 3 | $491,900 | 36 days |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Same zone check as above; four Whitestone-tagged listings in the Camacho and Winkley zones were removed and one in-zone listing tagged to another school was added. Two active listings are Flex listings that do not show a price, so the active median list price is based on the other 47.
60 homes are currently active, under contract, or pending in the Whitestone zone. With 49 active listings against about 10 sales a month over the past year, the zone has roughly 5 months of inventory, which is a fairly balanced market that leans slightly toward buyers.
The median active list price of $599,900 is above the trailing-twelve-month median sale price of $557,500. That is partly because the active list includes 11 homes priced at $1 million or more, all in Crystal Falls, including two newly built homes listed at $1.5 million and $1.7 million. Active listings have been on the market a median of 80 days, so buyers have room to negotiate. The under-contract and pending medians are based on only eight and three homes, so they don’t say much about the typical home in the zone.
