GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Gullett Elementary earned an overall A with a score of 93. That is up 1 point from an A (92) in 2024-25. Gullett has been an A campus in four of the last five rated years, scoring 96 in 2021-22 and 94 in 2022-23, with a single B (87) in 2023-24.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): A (93)
- Student Achievement: A, 93 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: A, 92 out of 100 (Academic Growth A/92, Relative Performance C/77)
- Closing the Gaps: A, 93 out of 100
- Prior Overall Ratings: A (96) in 2021-22, A (94) in 2022-23, B (87) in 2023-24, A (92) in 2024-25
- Austin ISD (2025-26): B (81) district-wide
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Gullett earned an A in all three domains in 2025-26. Student Achievement, the share of students meeting STAAR standards, was an A (93). School Progress was an A (92), with Academic Growth at 92, while Relative Performance, which compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students, was a C (77), up from 72. Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups, rose from 91 to 93. The 2023-24 B came mainly from dips in School Progress (81) and Closing the Gaps (79), both of which have since recovered. Gullett earned distinctions in ELA/Reading, Comparative Academic Growth and Comparative Closing the Gaps in 2021-22 and none since. The campus is not identified for state improvement support.
