Southwest Austin is home to a mix of established neighborhoods with estate sized lots to newer construction with more modern finish outs. One of the closest areas to Downtown Austin and the airport, residents choose Southwest Austin if they want to be close to the activities in Downtown Austin or have to travel to and from the airport often. While most of the traffic is on a north/south outlet, most residents in Southwest Austin, live on an east/west commute.
