Liberty Hill Middle School’s motto is Be the Exception. Its enrollment of about 1,070 reflects 2025-26, when the district had only two middle schools. With Legacy Ranch Middle School opening in August 2026 and taking over the area east of US 183, Liberty Hill Middle School now serves only the western side of the district, so its 2026-27 enrollment will look different. GreatSchools and the Texas Education Agency measure different things, which is worth knowing before comparing schools. GreatSchools weighs test performance against schools serving similar student populations. The Texas Education Agency’s rating, below, is the state’s own official measurement and the one used for school accountability purposes.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Liberty Hill Middle School earned an overall B with a score of 80, down six points from its B (86) in 2024-25. Student Achievement held at a B, while School Progress was a C and Closing the Gaps dropped from an A (90) the year before to a C (74). About 22% of students were economically disadvantaged. These results reflect the school’s 2025-26 attendance zone, which still included students east of US 183.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): B (80)
- Student Achievement: B (83), based on STAAR performance
- School Progress: C (78), with Academic Growth at C (78) and Relative Performance at F
- Closing the Gaps: C (74)
- School Improvement Status: Identified for Targeted Support and Improvement in 2026
- Prior Overall Ratings: B (80) in 2021-22, B (86) in 2022-23, B (80) in 2023-24, B (86) in 2024-25
TEA’s 2026 summary report identifies Liberty Hill Middle School for Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI). TSI is a federal accountability designation based on how specific student groups perform, not on the campus’s overall letter grade, and it requires the campus to put an improvement plan in place for those groups. The campus kept its overall B. For context, under TEA’s scale, an A rating reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized performance, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable.

Liberty Hill Middle School Attendance Zone Map
The map above shows where the Liberty Hill Middle School campus sits. To confirm whether a specific home address is zoned to Liberty Hill Middle School, use the Liberty Hill ISD 2026-27 School Locator or the district’s campus address lookup.
Under the boundaries the Liberty Hill ISD board adopted on February 16, 2026, US 183 is the dividing line: Liberty Hill ISD homes west of US 183 are zoned to Liberty Hill Middle School and then Liberty Hill High School. That takes in the town of Liberty Hill and the rural west side of the district, plus Lariat, Stonewall Ranch, Liberty Parke, Saratoga Springs, Cascade, North Haven, Clearwater Ranch, Sundance Estates, Sundance Ranch, Northgate Ranch and the Estates at Northgate, San Gabriel River Ranch, Bear Creek Ranch, Hidden Creek Estates, Carriage Oaks, Quarry Lake Estates, Butler Farms, Mesa Vista, Durham Park, Thousand Oaks, Highland Oaks, Live Oak Ranch, Cierra Vista, High River Ranch, Country Living Estates, Riverbend Oaks, Silver Creek Ranch, Boulderwood Park, Jenks Branch, and Rio Ancho (about 98% of Rio Ancho’s platted area is in Liberty Hill ISD).
The one split is in the Bill Burden Elementary zone: its small section east of US 183, including Grand Oaks at Liberty Hill and Wildleaf, goes to Legacy Ranch Middle School instead. Liberty Hill ISD plans another boundary review in spring 2027, and a few nearby communities, such as Larkspur and Orchard Ridge, are in Leander ISD rather than Liberty Hill ISD, so check the exact address rather than relying on a Liberty Hill mailing address.
Homes Zoned to Liberty Hill Middle School: Market Stats
Here is what actually happened in Liberty Hill Middle School’s attendance zone over the past three years, pulled directly from Unlock MLS for single-family homes in Liberty Hill ISD whose addresses fall inside Liberty Hill Middle School’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each MLS listing, we geocoded every Liberty Hill ISD sale and tested its location against the district’s own 2026-27 boundary map. That matters here because Liberty Hill ISD redrew its attendance zones for 2026-27, so older listings carry the school names that applied before the new boundaries. Most of these sales are in Lariat, Stonewall Ranch, Liberty Parke, Clearwater Ranch, Sundance Ranch, Rio Ancho, and the other neighborhoods west of US 183.
