Legacy Ranch High School History and Grade Phase-In
Legacy Ranch High School opened in fall 2024 as a 9th-grade-only campus. While its permanent campus was under construction, it used the newly built middle school building at 450 County Road 258, which is now Legacy Ranch Middle School. It added 10th grade in 2025-26, and in August 2026 it moved to its permanent campus at 1277 Legacy Ranch Drive with grades 9 through 11.
Because the school is adding one grade a year, all Liberty Hill ISD seniors in 2026-27, including those who live east of US 183, attend Liberty Hill High School. Legacy Ranch High School’s first senior class will be in 2027-28, when it becomes a full 9th-through-12th grade school.
The permanent campus broke ground in September 2023 and held its ribbon cutting on May 6, 2026. Designed by VLK Architects and built by Joeris General Contractors, it has about 475,000 square feet, a 925-seat auditorium, and Wrangler Stadium with more than 9,000 seats. The Wranglers play their first varsity football season in 2026 in District 13-5A Division II, the same district as Liberty Hill High School.
Both of Legacy Ranch High School’s TEA ratings so far were earned at the temporary campus: a B (86) for 2024-25 with only 9th graders, and an A (91) for 2025-26 with 9th and 10th graders. Its first rating at the permanent campus, with grades 9 through 11, is expected with TEA’s 2026-27 ratings in August 2027.

Legacy Ranch High School’s enrollment and staffing figures come from 2025-26, when it had only 9th and 10th graders at its temporary campus. With 11th grade added and a larger permanent campus, those numbers will look different for 2026-27. GreatSchools and the Texas Education Agency measure different things, which is worth knowing before comparing schools. GreatSchools weighs test performance against schools serving similar student populations. The Texas Education Agency’s rating, below, is the state’s own official measurement and the one used for school accountability purposes.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Legacy Ranch High School earned an overall A with a score of 91, up from a B (86) in 2024-25, one of the biggest gains in the district. Student Achievement was an A (91), School Progress a B (83), and Closing the Gaps an A (92). It also earned three TEA distinctions. About 11% of students were economically disadvantaged.
This rating was earned by Legacy Ranch High School’s 9th and 10th graders while the school was housed in the building that is now Legacy Ranch Middle School, under TEA campus number 246908043. TEA’s newest mapping data labels that number Legacy Ranch MS, but its accountability reports still title it Legacy Ranch High School, and the rating belongs to the high school. Because the school had no graduates yet, college, career, and military readiness did not factor into this rating the way it does at Liberty Hill High School.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): A (91), grades 9–10
- Student Achievement: A (91), based on STAAR performance
- School Progress: B (83), with Academic Growth at B (83) and Relative Performance at D
- Closing the Gaps: A (92)
- Distinctions (2025-26): Academic Achievement in ELA/Reading, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, and Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth
- Prior Overall Ratings: B (86) in 2024-25 (9th grade only), with a distinction in ELA/Reading
For context, under TEA’s scale, an A rating reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized performance, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable.

The school opened in 2024-25, so no earlier ratings exist, and it is not yet confirmed whether the permanent campus will keep this campus number. TEA updates ratings every year, so check the current rating with Liberty Hill ISD or TEA before basing a decision on it.

The map above shows where the Legacy Ranch High School campus sits. Under the boundaries the Liberty Hill ISD board adopted on February 16, 2026, US 183 divides the district’s two high schools, and Legacy Ranch High School serves Liberty Hill ISD homes east of US 183 for grades 9 through 11. That combines the Legacy Ranch Middle School and Santa Rita Middle School zones and includes all Liberty Hill ISD sections of Santa Rita Ranch, Saddleback, Morningstar, Rancho Sienna, the Lively tract, Oaks at San Gabriel, Omega Ranch, Bar W Ranch, Rancho Santa Fe, Tesoro, Ancient Oaks, Northfork, Eldorado, North San Gabriel River Ranch, Ridge at Cross Creek, Grand Oaks at Liberty Hill, Wildleaf, and the Liberty Hill ISD part of Cimarron Hills.
In 2026-27 only, 12th graders who live in this zone attend Liberty Hill High School. Several neighborhoods cross the district line: part of the Santa Rita Ranch master plan is in Georgetown ISD, and only about 54% of Cimarron Hills and about 8% of Highland Meadows are in Liberty Hill ISD. The district plans another boundary review in spring 2027, so check the exact address.
Homes Zoned to Legacy Ranch High School: Market Stats
Here is what actually happened in Legacy Ranch High School’s attendance zone over the past three years, pulled directly from Unlock MLS for single-family homes in Liberty Hill ISD whose addresses fall inside Legacy Ranch High School’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each MLS listing, we geocoded every Liberty Hill ISD sale and tested its location against the district’s own 2026-27 boundary map. That matters here because Liberty Hill ISD redrew its attendance zones for 2026-27, so older listings carry the school names that applied before the new boundaries. Most of these sales are in Santa Rita Ranch, Morningstar, Rancho Sienna, Bar W Ranch, Oaks at San Gabriel, and Lively Ranch. We used the grade 9 through 11 zone, which is the long-term attendance area.
