Lariat Trails Elementary Opened in August 2026
Lariat Trails Elementary welcomed its first students on August 12, 2026, after a ribbon cutting on July 31. It is Liberty Hill ISD’s eighth elementary school, built with funds from the 2023 bond at a cost of about $44 million. The building is about 108,000 square feet, with modern classrooms, outdoor learning areas and a central courtyard. It sits inside the 706-acre Lariat master-planned community, so many Lariat families can walk to school.
The founding principal is Christina Gamez, who joined Liberty Hill ISD in 2012 as a PE teacher at Bill Burden, was part of the founding staff at Rancho Sienna, and was most recently Bill Burden’s principal. The campus motto is Leading the Trail.
Its zone, adopted by the LHISD board in February 2026, takes in Lariat, Sundance Estates, Sundance Ranch, Northgate Ranch, Clearwater Ranch and the CR 214 and CR 200 corridors. Much of that area was zoned to Bill Burden Elementary through 2025-26.
Because this is the school’s first year, there is no TEA rating, enrollment count or test data yet. Its first TEA accountability rating would cover the 2026-27 school year, with release expected around August 2027. Until then, the best way to judge the school is to visit, talk to the principal, and look at the track record of the staff and of Liberty Hill ISD, which earned a district-wide B (85) in 2025-26.

Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
Lariat Trails Elementary has no TEA accountability rating yet because it opened in August 2026. Texas rates campuses on a full year of results, so its first rating would cover 2026-27 and is expected around August 2027. We will update this page when it is released.
- Overall TEA Rating: Not yet rated (new campus, opened August 2026)
- First Rating Expected: 2026-27 school year, released around August 2027
- Liberty Hill ISD District Rating (2025-26): B (85)
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. For context, students zoned to Lariat Trails mostly came from Bill Burden Elementary, which earned a B (83) in 2025-26. A new campus’s results can differ from the school its students came from, so treat that only as a rough reference.

Homes Zoned to Lariat Trails Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes in Liberty Hill ISD sold through Unlock MLS whose addresses fall inside Lariat Trails Elementary’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each listing, we geocoded every LHISD sale and tested it against the district’s own boundary map. That matters here because LHISD redrew its elementary boundaries for 2026-27, so older listings often carry the old school names. Because the school is new, the earlier periods in the table show sales of homes inside today’s Lariat Trails zone, even though those homes were zoned to other schools at the time. The zone’s largest neighborhoods are Lariat, Clearwater Ranch, San Gabriel River Ranch, Bear Creek Ranch and Sundance Estates.
3-Year Closed Sales Trend
| Period | Homes Sold | Median Sale Price | Median $/Sq Ft | Sale-to-List Ratio | Median Days on Market |
| Sept 2022 – Aug 2023 | 71 | $884,000 | $282.91 | 97.7% | 50 days |
| Sept 2023 – Aug 2024 | 194 | $525,350 | $224.42 | 98.1% | 90 days |
| Sept 2024 – Aug 2025 | 254 | $492,450 | $199.12 | 98.4% | 93 days |
| Trailing 12 Months (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026) | 317 | $549,999 | $195.02 | 99.0% | 70 days |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Single-family homes only. Each sale was geocoded and matched to Liberty Hill ISD’s official 2026-27 attendance-zone boundaries, so the figures reflect today’s zone rather than the school name typed into each listing; 49 Liberty Hill ISD listings that fell outside every district zone, and a small number that could not be located precisely, were left out.
The median sale price for homes in the Lariat Trails Elementary zone has fallen, from $884,000 in 2022-23 to $549,999 over the trailing twelve months, a change of about 37.8%. Median price per square foot moved from $282.91 to $195.02 (-31.1%), so the per-foot picture is softer than three years ago.
Sales volume went from 71 homes in 2022-23 to 317 in the past twelve months. Median days on market rose from 50 to 70 days, and sellers received a median of 99.0% of their final list price over the past year.
Keep the mix of homes in mind when reading these numbers. In 2022-23, most homes that sold in what is now the Lariat Trails zone were acreage properties, with a median lot of about one acre. Since then, new construction in Lariat and Clearwater Ranch has made up most sales, with a median lot of about a sixth of an acre. Much of the drop in the median sale price reflects that shift rather than a like-for-like decline in values.
