Igo Elementary’s 2026-2028 Turnaround Plan
Igo Elementary has received a D from TEA in each rated year since 2022-23, and in 2025-26 TEA identified the campus for targeted support and improvement. Jarrell ISD says Igo is implementing a 2026-2028 Turnaround Plan focused on strengthening teaching and learning and building systems for continuous improvement.
According to the campus, the plan centers on high-quality Tier 1 instruction using the state’s Bluebonnet Learning curriculum, weekly Professional Learning Communities for teacher collaboration, teacher coaching, observation and feedback, targeted intervention and enrichment, support for students in special education and bilingual or emergent bilingual services, and regular monitoring of student growth. It includes measurable student outcome goals and implementation checkpoints through August 2028, and campus and district leaders review progress and adjust supports along the way.
Jarrell ISD named Dr. Leslie Vazquez principal of Igo Elementary in July 2026. Families can review the public version of the turnaround plan and submit feedback through Igo Elementary’s About Us page.

Igo Elementary was Jarrell ISD’s second elementary school, after Jarrell Elementary. Its vision statement centers on teamwork, resilience and community. In TEA’s 2025-26 data, about 65 percent of Igo students were economically disadvantaged. Its 2026-27 zone comes from the new elementary boundaries Jarrell ISD adopted in February 2026 to open Berry Creek Elementary. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Igo Elementary earned an overall D with a score of 66, about the same as its D (67) in 2024-25. TEA identified the campus for targeted support and improvement in 2025-26.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): D (66)
- Student Achievement: F, 58 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: D, 66 out of 100 (Academic Growth D/66, Relative Performance F/56)
- Closing the Gaps: D, 67 out of 100
- Improvement Status: Identified for targeted support and improvement (TSI)
- Prior Overall Ratings: Not Rated in 2021-22 (score 57), D (65) in 2022-23, D (63) in 2023-24, and D (67) in 2024-25
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. TEA builds the overall score from the better of Student Achievement or School Progress, weighted at 70 percent, plus Closing the Gaps at 30 percent. School Progress itself uses the better of Academic Growth or Relative Performance, which compares results with campuses that have a similar share of economically disadvantaged students.
Igo’s strongest area in 2025-26 was Closing the Gaps at 67, followed by Academic Growth at 66, while STAAR achievement was the weakest piece at 58. In 2021-22, Texas labeled campuses that would have scored below a C as Not Rated under Senate Bill 1365, and Igo was identified that year for comprehensive support and improvement. Targeted support and improvement (TSI) is a federal identification TEA gives a campus when one or more student groups consistently underperform on the state’s measures; the campus then writes and carries out an improvement plan.

Homes Zoned to Igo Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes in Jarrell ISD sold through Unlock MLS whose addresses fall inside Igo Elementary’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each listing, we geocoded every Jarrell ISD sale and tested it against the district’s own boundary map. That matters here because the February 2026 elementary rezoning and the new Berry Creek Elementary and Jarrell Ranch Middle campuses mean older listings often carry old school names. The zone’s largest neighborhoods are Cool Water, Eastwood, Sonterra 1, Igo’s part of Sonterra West, and Rio Lobo.
