Berry Creek Elementary is in the Jarrell ISD and earned a Not Yet Rated rating from Great School’s as of October 2026. Berry Creek Elementary is Jarrell ISD’s newest school. It opened in August 2026 inside the Berry Creek Highlands neighborhood, in the Georgetown-area southern end of the district, and serves Pre-K through 5th grade. Its 2026-27 zone covers that southern area, including Berry Creek Highlands, Rancho del Cielo, Shady Oaks Estates, Hidden Oaks at Berry Creek, and the Sun City neighborhoods that fall inside Jarrell ISD. Because the campus just opened, it does not have a TEA rating yet. This page covers the new school, its programs, its 2026-27 attendance zone, the neighborhoods zoned to it, and real closed-sales data for homes in the zone from Unlock MLS.

New Campus: Berry Creek Elementary Opened in August 2026
Berry Creek Elementary is Jarrell ISD’s fourth elementary school and was built with funds from the district’s May 2023 bond. The $48 million campus sits in the Berry Creek Highlands subdivision and is built for up to 900 students. The land was donated to the district, which the district estimates saved about $4 million, and the building was finished early and about $500,000 under budget. A naming committee met in early 2024, the board approved the Berry Creek Elementary name on June 19, 2024, construction began in November 2024, and the district held a ribbon cutting on June 8, 2026, ahead of the August 2026 opening.
To fill the new school, the Jarrell ISD board approved new elementary attendance zones, known as Plan 4, at its February 17, 2026 meeting, after an attendance zone committee of staff, parents and community members met starting in November 2025. The new boundaries changed elementary zones only and took effect in August 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. Homes in the southern, Georgetown-area part of the district are now zoned to Berry Creek, so listings and older websites may still show a different elementary school for these neighborhoods.
The board approved Lara Hutchinson as Berry Creek’s first principal on January 21, 2026. She was previously principal of Jarrell Elementary for five years and has more than 20 years in education. Because 2026-27 is the school’s first year, Berry Creek has no TEA accountability rating yet. Its first rating would cover the 2026-27 school year, and TEA typically releases ratings in August.

Berry Creek Elementary serves the Georgetown-area southern end of Jarrell ISD, so its mailing address is Georgetown even though it is a Jarrell ISD school. Jarrell ISD as a whole enrolled 4,528 students in 2025-26, more than triple its 2016 enrollment, which is why the district’s 2023 bond paid for two new elementary schools and a second middle school. State enrollment and staffing figures for Berry Creek won’t be published until after its first year. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
Berry Creek Elementary opened in August 2026, so it was not open during the 2025-26 school year and does not have a TEA accountability rating. TEA’s 2025-26 report lists the campus as not considered for accountability. The school’s first rating would cover the 2026-27 school year.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): Not rated; the campus opened in August 2026
- First Rating Expected: For the 2026-27 school year, typically released by TEA in August
- Jarrell ISD District Rating (2025-26): C (74), with Student Achievement C (73), School Progress C (72), and Closing the Gaps C (75)
- Prior District Ratings: C (75) in 2021-22, C (74) in 2022-23, D (69) in 2023-24, and C (70) in 2024-25
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Until Berry Creek has results of its own, the district’s overall rating and the ratings of Jarrell ISD’s other elementary schools are the closest point of reference.

Berry Creek Elementary Attendance Zone Map
For 2026-27, Berry Creek Elementary’s zone is the largest of Jarrell ISD’s four elementary zones and covers the southern, Georgetown-area part of the district. It includes Berry Creek Highlands, where the school is, along with Rancho del Cielo, Shady Oaks Estates, Hidden Oaks at Berry Creek, Enclave at Hidden Oaks, Sierra G Ranch, Woodside East, Woodside West, The Golden Gates, Live Oak Park, Glenwood Park, Foxwood, the Sun City neighborhoods inside Jarrell ISD, and part of Sonterra West. To confirm the school for a specific address, use the Jarrell ISD 2026-27 school finder, an address lookup built on the district’s official 2026-27 boundaries, or see the maps on the Jarrell ISD attendance zones page.
Sun City is a 55+ active-adult community, so relatively few school-age children live there, and most of Sun City is in Georgetown ISD rather than Jarrell ISD. The Berry Creek country-club community itself is also in Georgetown ISD, despite sharing the school’s name. Sonterra West is split among all four Jarrell ISD elementary zones, with about a quarter of its homes zoned to Berry Creek. A few edge areas, such as Woods at Berry Creek, are not clearly inside any elementary zone on the district’s maps, so check those addresses directly. Jarrell ISD plans to build a fifth elementary, Atlas Ranch Elementary, which will require another elementary rezoning; no new boundaries have been adopted yet.
Homes Zoned to Berry Creek Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes in Jarrell ISD sold through Unlock MLS whose addresses fall inside Berry Creek Elementary’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each listing, we geocoded every Jarrell ISD sale and tested it against the district’s own boundary map. That matters here because the February 2026 elementary rezoning and the new Berry Creek Elementary and Jarrell Ranch Middle campuses mean older listings often carry old school names. The zone’s largest neighborhoods are the Jarrell ISD part of Sun City, Rancho del Cielo, Berry Creek Highlands and the southern part of Sonterra West.
