In 2025-26, Simon enrolled 875 students, with 78.7% economically disadvantaged, 43.3% emergent bilingual, 21.4% receiving special education services and 8.1% identified as gifted and talented, according to TEA; its emergent bilingual share was the highest among Hays CISD middle schools. District projections show Simon’s zone growing faster than any other Hays CISD middle school, from about 1,035 resident students in 2026-27 to about 1,598 by 2030-31, and a 2025-bond addition is expanding the campus toward about 1,200 students. Sean Fox continues as principal. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
