The Texas Education Agency’s rating, below, is the state’s own official measurement and the one used for school accountability purposes.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
- Overall TEA Rating: A (90 out of 100)
- Student Achievement: A (92) (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: B (86) (student growth compared to schools serving similar populations)
- Closing the Gaps: B (85)
Sycamore Springs Middle School earned an overall A (90 out of 100) from TEA for the 2025-26 school year, a little lower than its A (92) in 2024-25. It has been rated A in four of the last five years: A (91) in 2021-22, A (92) in 2022-23, B (86) in 2023-24 and A (92) in 2024-25. Student Achievement is an A (92), while School Progress (B, 86) and Closing the Gaps (B, 85) are both B’s.
For context, under TEA’s scale, an A rating reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized performance, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable.
