Del Valle High is in the Del Valle ISD and earned a 2/10 rating from Great School’s as of October 2026. The campus sits at 5201 Ross Rd. in Del Valle’s 78617 zip code and serves 9th through 12th grade. It is the district’s only comprehensive high school, so every zoned home in Del Valle ISD feeds it today, through Ojeda, Del Valle and Dailey middle schools. That changes when North Del Valle High School opens in Fall 2028: under both of the district’s proposals, the Dailey Middle zone in the north and the East Riverside and Montopolis area would move to the new school. Del Valle High School began in 1956 as a junior-senior high school and moved to its current Ross Road campus, established in 2000, after Austin-Bergstrom International Airport was built on the old site. The building was designed for 3,250 students, and the district’s Proposition A page lists 3,595 students and 18 portables, which is the main reason for North Del Valle High School. In 2025-26, Del Valle High enrolled 3,589 students, with 84.2% economically disadvantaged, 45.5% emergent bilingual and 15.8% receiving special education services, according to TEA data. For 2026-27 the district moved the campus to an Executive Principal model led by Dr. Stacie Holiday. Voters will decide Proposition A, a tax-rate election, on November 3, 2026; the district says the money would help pay staff, keep current programs and cover about $4.7 million a year in recurring costs to open North Del Valle. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Del Valle High earned an overall C with a score of 70. That is down 1 point from a C (71) in 2024-25. It was also a C (71) in 2023-24, and TEA lists the campus as Not Rated for 2021-22 and 2022-23.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): C (70)
- Student Achievement: C, 72 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance, college, career and military readiness, and graduation rate)
- School Progress: C, 75 out of 100 (Academic Growth F/58, Relative Performance C/75)
- Closing the Gaps: F, 59 out of 100
- Prior Overall Ratings: Not Rated in 2021-22, Not Rated in 2022-23, C (71) in 2023-24, C (71) in 2024-25
- Del Valle ISD (2025-26): D (66) district-wide
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Del Valle High’s overall score is driven by School Progress, a C (75), which comes from Relative Performance, the measure that compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students. Academic Growth was an F (58), as it has been in each rated year. Student Achievement, which for high schools combines STAAR results, college, career and military readiness, and graduation rates, was a C (72), with the college, career and military readiness component at 78, up from 76. Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups, fell from a D (66) to an F (59), and that pulled the overall score down a point. TEA identified Del Valle High for comprehensive support and improvement in 2025-26; it was not identified in 2023-24 or 2024-25. The campus has not earned distinction designations in its rated years. No separate TEA rating was found for the Early College High School or P-TECH, whose results are likely reported under Del Valle High.

The 2022-23 and 2023-24 ratings were delayed by litigation and released in 2025. TEA issues updated ratings annually, so verify the current rating directly with Del Valle ISD or TEA before making a decision based on it.

Del Valle High Attendance Zone Map
Until North Del Valle High School opens, Del Valle High’s zone is all of Del Valle ISD. Since September 2022, about 39% of the district’s single-family home sales were in the 78744 zip code, 19% in 78617, 15% in 78610, 10% in 78725 and 5% in 78653, with the rest in smaller pieces of other zip codes. The zone runs from Easton Park, McKinney Crossing and Addison in Southeast Austin, through Longview, Durango and Sun Chase in the Del Valle Middle zone, to Whisper Valley and Austin’s Colony in the north.
High school zones change when North Del Valle opens in Fall 2028. As of October 2, 2026 no board adoption of a map had been found, but under both published proposals (Option A and Option B) Del Valle High would keep the south and center of the district: the Del Valle Middle zone and most of the Ojeda Middle zone, including the Popham, Del Valle, Hillcrest, Creedmoor and Newton Collins elementary areas. North Del Valle would take the Dailey Middle zone (Hornsby Bend, Austin’s Colony, Whisper Valley, Decker Lake, Webberville and the FM 969, Braker Lane, Taylor Lane and Gilbert Road areas) plus the Baty Elementary area along East Riverside Drive, Pleasant Valley Road and Montopolis Drive. Option A would also move the Smith Elementary neighborhoods south of Ben White Boulevard (Burleson Road, Stassney Lane, McKinney Falls Parkway and Nuckols Crossing Road) to North Del Valle, while Option B would keep most of that area at Del Valle High. Under the grandfathering rules, juniors and seniors stay at their current high school, and sophomores may request to stay if space allows. Confirm any address with the Del Valle ISD school finder, which still shows 2026-27 zones.

Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Single-family homes in Del Valle ISD whose listings are assigned to Del Valle High School.
The district-wide median sale price fell from $413,750 in 2022-23 to $340,050 over the trailing twelve months, a change of about -17.8%, and it declined in each of the four years. Median price per square foot fell from $239.40 to $192.31 (-19.7%), while the median home sold grew slightly, from 1,845 to 1,915 square feet.
Sales volume rose from 722 homes in 2022-23 to 1,096 in the past twelve months, up about 51.8%. New construction is a large part of that: 1,862 of the 3,509 homes sold since September 2022 (about 53%) were built in 2022 or later, and the median home sold over the past year was built in 2025. Rising volume with falling price per square foot usually reflects builder supply.
Median days on market rose from 35.5 days in 2022-23 to 65 over the past year, and sellers received a median of 98.4% of their final list price, compared with 98.6% three years earlier.

Neighborhoods Zoned to Del Valle High
The neighborhoods below have their own guides and are zoned to Del Valle High School, most of them through Ojeda Middle in Southeast Austin. Los Arboles is included because its guide lists Smith Elementary and Ojeda Middle; it has few single-family MLS sales. Under both North Del Valle proposals, the East Riverside and Montopolis (Baty Elementary) area would move to the new high school in Fall 2028, and under Option A so would the Smith Elementary area south of Ben White, so check the address in any neighborhood near those lines.
The district also includes large subdivisions without separate guides, such as Stallion Run, Longview, Durango, Sun Chase, Whisper Valley, Austin’s Colony, Schriber Ranch, Lexington Parke, Elm Park and Marble Creek Crossing.
Feeder Middle and Elementary Schools
Based on MLS school tags, about 53% of Del Valle High’s home sales come through Ojeda Middle, 28% through Del Valle Middle and 19% through Dailey Middle, and the largest elementary shares are Newton Collins (25%), Creedmoor (17%) and Del Valle Elementary (14%). Once North Del Valle opens in Fall 2028, both proposals would take the Dailey Middle zone and the Baty area out of Del Valle High’s feeder pattern, and Option A would also remove the Smith area south of Ben White.
