In 2025-26, Dailey enrolled 727 students, with 90.8% economically disadvantaged, 49.8% emergent bilingual, 20.2% receiving special education services and 4.4% identified as gifted and talented, according to TEA data. Kristen Gillespie is principal for 2026-27, and the Board approved new assistant and associate principal hires for Dailey in June and September 2026. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Dailey Middle School earned an overall F with a score of 58. That is down 1 point from an F (59) in 2024-25. Dailey was a C (73) in 2021-22, then a D in 2022-23 (63) and 2023-24 (65) before falling to an F. The district as a whole was a D (66) in 2025-26.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): F (58)
- Student Achievement: F, 57 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: D, 63 out of 100 (Academic Growth F/54, Relative Performance D/63)
- Closing the Gaps: F, 47 out of 100
- Prior Overall Ratings: C (73) in 2021-22, D (63) in 2022-23, D (65) in 2023-24, F (59) in 2024-25
- Del Valle ISD (2025-26): D (66) district-wide
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Dailey’s overall rating is driven by School Progress, a D (63) in 2025-26. Within that domain, Relative Performance, which compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students, improved from 60 to 63, while Academic Growth slipped from an F (58) to an F (54). Student Achievement, the share of students meeting STAAR standards, has stayed at an F, between 56 and 57, every year since 2022-23. Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups, fell from an F (55) to an F (47), the campus’s lowest domain score. Dailey has been identified for state improvement support in every year shown: it was a comprehensive support and improvement progress school in 2021-22, was identified for targeted support and improvement in 2022-23 and 2023-24, was identified for comprehensive support and improvement in 2024-25, and is a comprehensive support and improvement reidentified school in 2025-26.

Dailey Middle Attendance Zone Map
Dailey’s current zone covers the north side of Del Valle ISD, including Hornsby Bend, Austin’s Colony, Whisper Valley, Decker Lake, Webberville and the Garden Valley and Prado Ranch area. It also takes in the Garfield area along SH 71 east of FM 973 and a small area near Frontier Valley Drive east of US 183. Home sales in the zone since September 2022 are spread across the 78725 (308 of 675), 78653 (178) and 78724 (151) zip codes, with smaller numbers in 78741 and 78617.
Del Valle ISD released two proposals, Option A and Option B, in April 2026. Middle school zones would take effect in Fall 2027, and high school zones when North Del Valle High School opens in Fall 2028. As of October 2, 2026, no board adoption had been found. Under both middle school options, the Garfield area along SH 71 east of FM 973 toward the Colorado River (Tucker Hill Lane, Kellam Road, Fallwell Lane, Caldwell Lane, River Road and Citation Drive) would move from Dailey to Del Valle Middle School. Option A would also move the Baty Elementary area west of US 183 (East Riverside Drive, Grove Boulevard, Pleasant Valley Road, Oltorf Street and Montopolis Drive) from Ojeda Middle School to Dailey, so all of Baty would feed Dailey. Option B would instead move the small Frontier Valley Drive and Vargas Road area from Dailey to Ojeda. Under both high school options the entire Dailey zone would feed North Del Valle High School, and students starting 9th grade in Fall 2027 would begin at Del Valle High School and move to North Del Valle for 10th grade. Rising 8th graders may finish their final year at their current middle school, though transportation is generally not provided outside the assigned zone. Confirm any address with the Del Valle ISD school finder before buying.
