Bluebonnet Elementary is a Title I campus that opened in August 2004. Laura Faircloth is in her fifth year as principal in 2026-27. In 2025-26 about 80 percent of students were Hispanic and about two-thirds were economically disadvantaged, and enrollment was down about 16 percent from 2016. The campus finished 2021 bond renovations in 2024, including a redesigned secure front entry, security cameras, a new intercom system, HVAC upgrades, an interior refresh and a longer parent drop-off and pick-up lane. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Bluebonnet Elementary earned an overall B with a score of 82, up from a C (78) in 2024-25 and a D (69) in 2023-24. It also earned a distinction for ranking in the top 25 percent of comparable campuses for Academic Growth. TEA identified the campus for targeted support and improvement in 2025-26.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): B (82)
- Student Achievement: D, 69 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: B, 83 out of 100 (Academic Growth B/83, Relative Performance D/67)
- Closing the Gaps: C, 78 out of 100
- Distinction: Top 25 percent Comparative Academic Growth (2025-26)
- Improvement Status: Identified for targeted support and improvement (TSI)
- Prior Overall Ratings: Not Rated under Senate Bill 1365 in 2021-22, C (78) in 2022-23, D (69) in 2023-24, and C (78) in 2024-25
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. TEA builds the overall score from the better of Student Achievement or School Progress, weighted at 70 percent, plus Closing the Gaps at 30 percent. School Progress itself uses the better of Academic Growth or Relative Performance, which compares results with campuses that have a similar share of economically disadvantaged students.
Bluebonnet’s B comes from strong Academic Growth, meaning students improved on STAAR from one year to the next, while Student Achievement, the share of students meeting grade level, is still in the D range. The campus also earned the Comparative Academic Growth distinction in 2022-23. In 2021-22, scores below 70 were labeled Not Rated under Senate Bill 1365 rather than given a D or F, and TEA identified Bluebonnet for comprehensive support and improvement that year; it was listed as a comprehensive support and improvement progress school in 2022-23. A campus can earn a distinction and still be identified for improvement, because the identification looks at individual student groups. Targeted support and improvement (TSI) is a federal identification TEA gives a campus when one or more student groups consistently underperform on the state’s measures; the campus then writes and carries out an improvement plan.

Bluebonnet Elementary Attendance Zone Map
For 2026-27, Bluebonnet Elementary’s zone covers the west side of Bastrop ISD around Highway 71 and FM 1209, including Double Eagle Ranch, Riverbend at Double Eagle, ValVerde, Elm Ridge, River Crossing, Bluebonnet Acres, West Oaks, The Forest at Colorado Crossing, SilverLeaf and several smaller subdivisions. Bastrop ISD does not offer an address lookup tool, so check the 2026-2027 elementary attendance zone map on the Bastrop ISD school boundaries and maps page and confirm a specific address with the district.
The current boundaries were adopted by Bastrop ISD trustees in January 2025 and cover the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. Bastrop ISD’s tenth elementary school is under construction in the SilverLeaf development in Cedar Creek, near Waterford Boulevard and Highway 71, and is expected to open for 2027-28. Expect the district to redraw nearby elementary zones, which may include parts of Bluebonnet’s, before it opens. No proposal has been published yet.
Homes Zoned to Bluebonnet Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes in Bastrop ISD sold through Unlock MLS whose addresses fall inside Bluebonnet Elementary’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each listing, we geocoded every Bastrop ISD sale and tested it against the district’s own zone maps. That matters because the 2025 rezoning that came with Adelton’s opening and the middle-school conversions left many listings carrying old school names, for example homes now zoned elsewhere still tagged Bluebonnet, and older listings have no Creekside Middle School zone to point to. The zone’s largest neighborhoods are Riverbend at Double Eagle, Double Eagle Ranch, ValVerde, Elm Ridge and River Crossing.
3-Year Closed Sales Trend

| Trailing 12 Months (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026) | 209 | $336,000 | $178.26 | 99.0% | 88 days |
Data sourced from Unlock MLS. Statistics deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Single-family homes only. Each sale was geocoded and matched to Bastrop ISD’s official 2026-27 attendance-zone maps, so the figures reflect today’s zone rather than the school name typed into each listing; 4 Bastrop ISD listings that fell outside every zone, and 3 that could not be located, were left out.
The median sale price for homes in the Bluebonnet Elementary zone has fallen, from $593,745 in 2022-23 to $336,000 over the trailing twelve months, a change of about 43.4%. Median price per square foot moved from $241.16 to $178.26 (-26.1%), so the per-foot picture is softer than three years ago.
Sales volume went from 82 homes in 2022-23 to 209 in the past twelve months. Median days on market rose from 66 to 88 days, and sellers received a median of 99.0% of their final list price over the past year.
Keep the mix of homes in mind when reading these numbers. In 2022-23, sales in this zone were led by acreage homes in Double Eagle Ranch, with a median lot of about an acre. Over the past year, most sales were newer, smaller-lot homes in Riverbend at Double Eagle and ValVerde, with a median lot of under a fifth of an acre. Much of the drop in the median sale price reflects that shift rather than a like-for-like decline in values.
