Adelton Elementary: Bastrop ISD’s Newest Campus
Adelton Elementary welcomed its first students on August 13, 2025. It is a 105,000-square-foot, two-level campus built in Bastrop’s Adelton subdivision with Bastrop ISD bond funds, and its ground-floor library is designed around large windows for natural light. Trustees chose the Armadillo as the mascot, with orange and navy as school colors, in April 2025. Denise Guerrero, previously an assistant principal at Bluebonnet Elementary, was named founding principal in February 2025.
The attendance boundaries Bastrop ISD adopted in January 2025 were drawn to account for Adelton’s opening, and they cover both 2025-26 and 2026-27. Because those boundaries moved homes from older zones into Adelton’s, many listings in the area still carry a different elementary school name in the MLS. 2026-27 is the campus’s second year, and the 2025-26 rating below is its first from TEA.

- GreatSchools Rating: It is Not Yet Rated as of October 2026.
Adelton Elementary is in its second year in 2026-27, and Denise Guerrero has led the campus since it opened. In TEA’s 2025-26 data, about 46 percent of its students were economically disadvantaged. The campus is too new for a published student-teacher ratio. GreatSchools and TEA measure different things. GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Adelton Elementary earned an overall B with a score of 81. This was the campus’s first rating, since it opened in August 2025. TEA did not identify the campus for comprehensive, targeted or additional targeted support.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): B (81)
- Student Achievement: C, 71 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: B, 83 out of 100 (Academic Growth B/83, Relative Performance F/58)
- Closing the Gaps: C, 76 out of 100
- Improvement Status: Not identified for support and improvement
- Prior Overall Ratings: None. The campus opened in August 2025
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. TEA builds the overall score from the better of Student Achievement or School Progress, weighted at 70 percent, plus Closing the Gaps at 30 percent. School Progress itself uses the better of Academic Growth or Relative Performance, which compares results with campuses that have a similar share of economically disadvantaged students.
Adelton’s B rests mainly on Academic Growth, which measures how much students improved on STAAR from one year to the next. Its Relative Performance score was much lower, so the B reflects growth rather than overall test scores. Bastrop ISD as a whole remained a C in 2025-26, and the district reported that eight of its campuses earned an A or B that year, the first time that many had.

TEA issues updated ratings annually, so verify the current rating directly with Bastrop ISD or TEA before making a decision based on it.

Homes Zoned to Adelton Elementary: Market Stats
The figures below cover single-family homes in Bastrop ISD sold through Unlock MLS whose addresses fall inside Adelton Elementary’s official 2026-27 attendance zone. Rather than relying on the school name typed into each listing, we geocoded every Bastrop ISD sale and tested it against the district’s own zone maps. That matters here because the 2025 rezoning that came with Adelton’s opening left many listings carrying old school names, for example homes now zoned to Adelton still tagged Mina in the MLS. Because the zone is new, the earlier periods in the table show sales of homes that sit inside today’s Adelton zone, before the school existed. The zone’s largest neighborhoods are Bastrop Grove, River’s Bend at Pecan Park, Pecan Park and Adelton.

Each sale was geocoded and matched to Bastrop ISD’s official 2026-27 attendance-zone maps, so the figures reflect today’s zone rather than the school name typed into each listing; 4 Bastrop ISD listings that fell outside every zone, and 3 that could not be located, were left out.
