GreatSchools weighs test results against schools with similar student populations, while TEA’s rating, below, is the state’s official accountability measure.
Academic Performance: Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating
In TEA’s 2025-26 accountability ratings, released in August 2026, Brentwood Elementary earned an overall A with a score of 90. That is down 1 point from an A (91) in 2024-25. Before that, Brentwood was an A (94) in 2021-22 and a B (89) in both 2022-23 and 2023-24.
- Overall TEA Rating (2025-26): A (90)
- Student Achievement: A, 92 out of 100 (based on STAAR performance)
- School Progress: A, 93 out of 100 (Academic Growth A/93, Relative Performance C/74)
- Closing the Gaps: B, 84 out of 100
- Prior Overall Ratings: A (94) in 2021-22, B (89) in 2022-23, B (89) in 2023-24, A (91) in 2024-25
- Austin ISD (2025-26): B (81) district-wide
Under TEA’s scale, an A reflects exemplary performance, B is recognized, C is acceptable, D needs improvement, and F is unacceptable. Brentwood’s rating rests on steady Student Achievement, the share of students meeting STAAR standards, which has been an A (92) in each of the last four rated years. School Progress was an A (93), with Academic Growth at 93 and Relative Performance, which compares results with schools serving similar shares of economically disadvantaged students, at a C (74). The one domain that slipped was Closing the Gaps, which measures results for student groups, falling from an A (90) to a B (84), and that accounts for the 1-point dip. Brentwood earned distinctions in Mathematics and Postsecondary Readiness in 2021-22 and none since. The campus is not identified for state improvement support.
