Vista Point Neighborhood Guide

Vista Point is a brand-new neighborhood being built by KB Homes in burgeoning Southeast Austin. The community broke ground at the beginning of 2015 and completed in 2020. Reflected in its name, this 89-acre neighborhood sits on a hill and offers a panoramic view of the area. At completion, Vista Point will have have 344 well-appointed homes and will be the first completed neighborhood as part of the new building boom for the area. Vista Point Neighborhood Map

Vista Point is in the perfect location to enjoy the best of Austin. Located at the intersection of E. William Cannon and McKinney Falls Parkway, Vista point is only 10 minutes from Downtown Austin. For commuters, the neighborhood has easy access to IH-35 and Hwy 183. For nature lovers, you are less than 2 miles from McKinney Falls State Park. Vista Point is shaded in brown on the map below. Vista Point Amenities

Vista Point will have its own community park, large playscape, sports court surrounded and several seating areas. Once the community is a bit more developed, the plan is to build walking trails that lead to McKinney Falls State Park. McKinney Falls State Park is one of the more unique parks in Austin with numerous swimming holes and a great place to sit back and sunbathe on the rocks. There are 81 campsites, six remodeled cabins and more 9 miles of hike and bike trails.

The property tax rate in Southeast Austin’s Vista Point neighborhood is 2.1629% as of the 2022 tax year, down from 2.317% as of the 2021 tax year.

Kids who live in Southeast Austin’s Vista Point neighborhood are served by the Del Valle ISD and will likely attend the following schools:

  • Hillcrest Elementary – 4/10
  • Ojeda Middle – 4/10
  • Del Valle High – 3/10

Grocery Shopping Near Vista Point

Vista Point is surrounded by several mom and pop grocery stores with the larger grocery chains only a few miles away. H-E-B is the closest grocery store and is 3 miles west on East William Cannon. Looking for homemade tortillas and great produce? Check out Fiesta Market on East Stassney Lane. At the Shops at Southpark Meadows, you have both Walmart and Sams Club.

Shopping Near Vista Point

You will have plenty of shopping nearby at the Shops at Southpark Meadows . With stores like Bealls, Best Buy, Marshalls, Target, Sheplers Western Store and more, you will easily find what you are looking for. You are also less than 15 minutes for the boutique shopping on South Congress and Downtown Austin.

Restaurants Near Vista Point

With the big building boom starting to take place in Southeast Austin, there will definitely by a push for new restaurants to move into the area. However, there are quite a few good restaurants not too far away. You will find a nice selection of restaurants at Shops at Southpark Meadows. There you will find Texas Roadhouse, Austin Pizza, Third Base Sports Bar, Waterloo Icehouse, Pho Thaison and Green Mesquite BBQ to name a few. Off of Ben White you have one of Austin’s Southern favorites in the Catfish Parlour. Looking for some good Tex Mex and happy hour spot? Try Trudy’s South Star on E. Stassney and IH-35.

Coffee Near Vista Point

Vista Point has four Starbucks all within a 2 mile radius of the community making it an easy pick up on your way to work. If you desire something a little more local, try Strange Brew Coffee located just a few miles east on Manchaca Road. Strange Brew also provides food and live music on a nightly basis. Looking for a doughnut to go with your coffee? Both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Doughnut are nearby on IH-35.
